The legendary Walla Walla is widely considered the mildest and sweetest onion available. These heirloom, long-day bulbs are prized for their low sulfur content, which means no "bite" and no tears. They produce massive, juicy, globe-shaped onions with light yellow skin and white flesh. Perfect for fresh eating in salads, salsas, and sandwiches, these onions are best enjoyed shortly after harvest. Open-pollinated, non-GMO, and have been cultivated for over 125 years, originally brought to Washington State from the Island of Corsica in the late 1800s.
Days to Mature 110–125 days (spring sown)Start seeds 8-10 Weeks before last prost indoors, As early as February or March if you want a better head start. These Onions are also winter hardy to -22C in warmer parts of Canada. Sometimes Planted in the fall and overwintered.
