A Little Bit About Us

About Me:

Michael is a Horticulture Technician who has had a passion for plants since childhood. In the long summer months, he would tend to the flower beds alongside his mothers mother learning about growing Asters, Marigolds, Ageratum, Lobelia, Sedums and too many more to mention.

His father's father was in the vegetable garden, so hardened from years of working as a steam engineer was a master of his vegetable gardens he so passionately tended, sharing bits here and there about saving seeds and growing pumpkins; it was here that Michael realized his love for all things gardening.

Years of studying every single seed catalog until the pages were worn, reading every gardening book and magazine family provided, nurtured this love.  Michael began his secondary education in the apprenticeship programs available to him as a young man working in the big city in a small garden center in the east side of Toronto.  Moving to the greenbelt of Ontario from a colder wintry Winnipeg was his only option to further his passion. Finding a nurturing job only to find a few years later graduating from Humber College in Ontario in 2005,  he was finally a Horticulture Technician.

Some of Michael’s interests are growing giant pumpkins and other competition vegetables. Growing beautiful Dahlias, Lilies, Peonies, just to name a few, Orchids, Succulents and Tropicals also keep him immersed in this passion for everything horticulture encompasses.

Michael hopes to inspire this Joy of gardening through information and guiding others to be successful in their journey with plants and the nature we hold so close to our hearts.
