Parsley has an extensive history of use as a healing herb, dating back to ancient Greece. Parsley is often used in cooking to add a bit of zip to soups and stews. The large dark green leaves are easy to grow in a sunny window sill or on your patio. The elegant plants are only around 75cm tall and easy to keep. Keep these plants watered, even more so in warm weather.
Parsley is a biennial herb, so every year you’ll need to start from new seeds. Plant in full sun or partial shade, and allow the plants to grow until about 12 inches high. Remove the flower stems, which will stop the plant from producing more leaves if allowed to bloom. Add a deep layer of manure or compost in the spring prior to planting, then thin plants to 24 inches apart when they have four true leaves. 1 gram of seeds about 450 seeds.
